The Roadmap series aims to equip beginners with the strategic principles and tactical skills to reach the level of a 1st Dan.
The fifth volume of the Roadmap series presents 200 opening and middlegame problems with realistic party positions. It covers concepts such as the right Joseki choice, fight against influence, reduction of strength, exploitation of strength for combat, hunting in the right direction, building walls, invading weak positions, attacking and defending weak groups and more. If the first problems are aimed at a playing strength of 15 to 20 Kyu, then her difficulty increases over the book and the last problems are aimed at strong Kyu players short of Dan rank. However, the solutions are analyzed so broadly that the entire book is suitable for Kyu players of all grades to study.
In addition, the book has a very interesting 30-page appendix to 3-3-Josekis, as they have become common because of the influence of Artificial Intelligence.
